Yale Cabaret

During the 2022–2023 academic year, the founder of The Well served as Co-Producing Artistic Director for Yale Cabaret’s 55th season, themed Parachute. This historic season marked the first all-Black leadership team and the first full return to in-person operations since the pandemic. The work of that year deeply informs The Well’s current model for artistic and community-based production.

The season included 11 fully produced shows, a revitalized partnership with local restaurant Anchor Spa to reintroduce the Cabaret Kitchen with a new culturally responsive menu, and a redesigned beverage program. The team also launched a development workshop series (Cab Labs), upgraded advisory collaborations, and partnered with local drag artists for the annual Dragaret. Under this leadership, attendance increased significantly, and new guest artist programs were introduced to broaden access and impact.

Additional efforts included website redevelopment, restroom inclusion upgrades, community engagement initiatives, and the introduction of departmental name tags for front-of-house staff—many of which continue in use today.
